We’re hiring a Lead Developer because we need you to help accomplish our mission…assisting independent Sales Agents to navigate merchant services with a partner who obsessively pursues something rarely found in our industry, an AgentFirst paradigm. PayCompass challenges the status quo in every single aspect of our business and we need a Lead Developer who operates the same way.
We believe that merchant service sales professionals are growing small businesses one solution at a time. And one of the best ways to do that is by providing a full toolbox of solutions and services without the messiness of inefficient processes, daily reporting, sales quotas, or laughable commissions.
That’s why our mission is AgentFirst. We support independent sales agents as they build and support their portfolio of clients. We view each agent as our customer - keeping them safe, supported, and successful allows them to do the same for their merchants.

We were tired of paying hundreds of thousands in fees for outdated and/or inefficient software solutions. Our Sales Agents deserve the best so we decided to build our own solution called ‘Navigo.’ This web based tool has quickly become invaluable for our Agents and we need to take its functionality to the next level. We have a huge list of requested features and we need your experience to make it a reality!
This is why finding the right fit for this role is one of our top priorities right now. We need someone who is as passionate about learning our industry as they are about leading a team of Developers. We also know that we only grow through feedback and collaboration so we’re looking for someone that will help us grow and shape the future of PayCompass.
What will you do in this role?
As the Lead Developer for PayCompass, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and driving our software development efforts. You will oversee a growing team that is focused on delivering solutions that streamline the efforts of our Agents and our employees alike. While that current focus is on ‘Navigo,’ more development opportunities are already in the works and we need a leader who is adaptable and eager to lead their team to success.
What will you learn in this role?
If you come from a traditional organization, our pace of innovation, action, and iteration might be a little uncomfortable at first. You’ll learn to move fast, iterate quickly, and put zero value into sunk cost. You'll get to spread your wings, actively eliminate red tape, and do your thing.
If you come from a large corporation or a bloated management structure, this will feel like the first day out of prison after a 10-year sentence.

Who will you work with?
You will work directly with Sack Khoundara, our Director of IT and Compliance, and our Systems Administrator. You’ll collaborate closely with our entire Sales Operations team, lead by Chris Torres, our Chief Sales Officer.
Where will you work?
You’ll work at PayCompass HQ in Tempe, Arizona. Our team has a fantastic culture and we genuinely love being around each other (and our dogs)!

Requirements
- You are a development nerd who has been looking for a role like this for years. You have 3+ years of experience with PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL, HTML, and CSS (Bootstrap).
- In your heart of hearts, you love to be a part of watching partners and team members succeed.

Compensation & Benefits
• $90K - $120K (depending on experience)
